I finally did this gorgeous breed, the Fleur de nuit that someone requested me.

Breed Name: Fleur-de-Nuit
National Loyalty: French
Physical Characteristics: Large and heavily built; deep blue and black hides
Special Abilities: Can see in darkness

Nocturnal by nature, the Fleurs-de-Nuit ("Flowers of the Night") were instrumental to the French military because of their ability to see in the dark. In most cases, a burst of bright light (usually through flash powder) could injure their sensitive moon-white colored eyes. However, the French have managed to produce Fleurs-de Nuit which were far less sensitive. Their dark colorations made them invisible at night. As a further complication, they beat their wings at the same pace as the British Yellow Reapers. Other dragons can not distinguish the two breeds by sound.

I agree with the above comments - if I had a dragon, I'd pick a Fleur de Nuit, Japanese water-spouter, a Longwing, or a Xenica (a breed that only has female captains, like the Longwing). Or, a cross between a Fleur de Nuit and a Longwing, or a Fleur de Nuit and another breed.
I'm working on a fan fiction right now in which the British begin to experiment like Bonaparte and the Chinese. Only in this case, the British have one female Fleur de Nuit that breeds with Excidium, Roland's male Longwing, in an attempt to produce a hatchling with the Fleur de Nuit eyesight, but Longwing acid.
Speaking of which, have you read the fan fiction "Bete Noire"? Above mentioned story I'm working on is based off of that.
"Bete Noire" is an AU crossover fan fiction between Pirates of the Caribbean and Temeraire, where Captain James Norrington captures a Fleur de Nuit egg from French pirates, it hatches, and he accidentally becomes its captain. It's a female hatchling that Elizabeth Swann, the main female protagonist of Pirates of the Caribbean, dubs "Nyx", after the Greek goddess of the night.
My own story will be based several years after the event, and a few weeks after "Tongues of Serpents", the latest Temeraire installment. In it, Captain Norrington and Nyx - with Nyx fully grown and with her half-Fleur, half-Longwing egg by Excidium - travel to join Laurence, Temeraire, Granby, and Iskierka on their journey to Peru as an envoy to the Inca.
Anyways, I really love all of your renditions of the Temeraire dragon breeds! Do you still take requests?
