Description

My finished version of Lady Galadriel, the White Lady of Lothlórien. Also knwon as Altariel, Nerwen or Alatáriel to those who are tolkien geeks and engoy enormously to submerge ourselves in the occult.

My colouring is pretty simple, should anyone make a better attempt at it, they only have to ask, and they'll have my go-ahead.

Race: Noldorin
Father: Finarfin
Mother: Earwen
Husband: Celeborn
Children: Celebrian, Amroth (in some early versions of the mythos)

Artanis was born in Ancient Tirion, beyind the seas of Middle Earth, youngest child of Prince Finarfin and Ëarwen of Alqualondë, and the youngest grandchild of King Finwë of the Noldor. Both noldorin and sindarin royalty, young Artanis was proud and bold and wanted to see new horizons. When the rebellion against the Valar took place young galadriel followed his uncle Fingolfin across the ice to the freedom promised in Middle Earth and new new kingdoms that would arise. Nonetheless after the tragedy of their journey. Artanis and her brothers swiftly established relations with King Thingol of Doriath, the sindar's sovereign and her mother's kin. She was invited to remain in the forests of Doriath and soon came to love dearly another of Thingol's kinsmen, Celeborn. She married tall fair Celeborn and were blessed with hapiness. Nonetheless doom was close, and Doriath was sacked, and they had to abandon it en route to the mouths of Sirion. Galadriel and Celeborn became during these later days and most of the second age, itinerant sovereigns of various regions. They resided for not a long time at a place: first some time in newfounded Lindon, in Eregion, in Edhellond in Lothlórien... Sea longing affected her strongly, but she postponed her departure time and again. The troubles and avatars of the War of Eregion led her for the first time to Imladris, Elrond Peredhel's refuge with her daughter Celebrían. After King Amroth's death (who may or may not have been her son, depending on the source) they were called to rule over Lothlórien where she stayed, wielding Nenya, one of the three bestowed on her by Celebrimbor, for the remainder of the third age. She sailed West, parting with Celeborn, in the aftermath of the sucess of the Quest of the Ring.

From the way Tolkien's books describe her, Galadriel was supposed to be the best, most capable and most beautiful woman in all of Middle-Earth. And I don't doubt it.
