This is the first relatively-large format piece I've worked on and it was exhausting. It is another instalement in my Laurence-Emily pics for the Temeraire Series.

I shamelessly admit that it was greatly inspired by *AgiVega's stories on the subject (which by the way are the best in the entire fandom). Although this particular scene doesn't appear in any of the books and neither does it in her stories it was a gigantic plot bunny that jumped me the other day squealing: do me, do me!

So I did.

If the story was written, which is not, by the very end it would go something like this:

The following morning things all seemed to happen in hurried succession. She dressed in the only feminine, simple gown she had amongst her earthly possessions, whilst her heart fluttered madly in her chest. Laurence was waiting for her, of course, and always the gentleman, offerend her his arm. He winced momentarily as his other arm must still pain him somewhat from his unfortunate injury, and she made an even greater effort not to unbalance him.

He wasn't alone, Harcourt smiled at her encouragingly, and with their very small retinue they walked to their appointment in the covert's chapel.

As they came close to the dwarfing bulk of Temeraire, laying down and peering insistently inside the small chapel's door, the comapartively small figure of Admiral Roland became visible too. She stood there in full regalia, and they came to a halt before her, as she looked at them levely.

Then they observed, surprised as she uncovered her head, and offered her hand at Laurence gracefully. But instead it was Emily who angled herself and took her hand amongst hers...

And imagine what you will. Little Emily is too spunky to be given away by anyone. Even her mother :D

The dark-haired man by Harcourt is Granby, of course. There are characters missing, but I couldn't find a coherent way to include anoyne else that wouldn't be the witnesses, considering it is a small ceremony. You of course are seeing the scene roughly from Temeraire's point of view.

Beautiful picture! :)
Do you know where I can find AgiVega's stories?
